My friends, it gives me great pleasure to announce SpringLoaded, the 449’s very first free theme! With support for Widgets, Gravatars and a handful of other nifty plugins, SpringLoaded is one sexy little number designed and built by the 449!
Chris (Rowe, visually gifted) worked his magic on the design and Indranil brought code excellence to the table once more (despite a very challenging layout) to ensure a fantastic and highly functional theme.
Check out the full demo or download it and give your blog a spring kick!
We’ve got many more themes in the pipeline, including some awesome premium ones which will be both amazingly good and highly affordable, so stay tuned!

Verrrry niiiiiiiccccce!!! Awesome job.

This is a cracking theme! Is there a license for it?
I don’t know if I’ll ever use it, but if I do I’d probably just want to change the background and color scheme to make it unique, as it really gets everything right.

Thanks Peter
The theme’s released under the GPL license (the same as the Wordpress core). Feel free to tweak the theme as much as you like, just be sure to give us a peek at the end result

Hi
Just stumbled across you guys through Technorati, not stumbleupon!
Really like the look of the site you have done, possibly may be used for my girlfriends blog, this is just up her street.
Have subcribed to your blog as I just like the look and feel of it. Not had much chance to look around yet, but it’s on my ToDoList.
All the best with the theme
Graham

What a wonderful theme, thank you very very much! I will check out, if it fits to my blog needs. In my opinion, it will … with a little translation work (german).
Kind regards

I saw you were using the_title_attribute() method, which is only available in WP 2.3.2 I believe. You could just change it to the_title() so it works in all the browsers.
I am playing with the theme right now and might come back again with some more comments.

Also you should add depth=1 to the wp_list_pages() call from header.php, so that only top level pages are displayed. otherwise if the user has a child page, it would screw up the layout.

I’m surprised that onFocus and field = “Search this blog” is true, the search field doesn’t reset, so a user can type in it without deleted “Search this blog.”

Unfortunately the page navigation tabs don’t display correctly in IE6. They show up vertically instead of horizontally.

Thanks for the great theme!
There is a bit of a cross-browser compatibility issue with IE6 and the horizontal menu (it appears vertically). Any chance this is getting fixed?
Thanks!

Fantastic theme. Two questions.
1. Is it possible to incorporate a custom header? When I try to insert the code for my header, either below the body tag or in the header tag in the header, the top menu/search bar goes awry.
2. For some reason, the text and the menu tables in the right column are not aligning correctly.
Any ideas?

awesome theme. i have it installed at portcitycynic.com
this is a definite newbie question that may not have anything to do with your theme, but what do i do with the tags cloud on the right side. it still displays the default text even though i’ve made one post with tags. am i missing something?

I love the color scheme and how the design elements blend well together. Another high five for being standards compliant and validated. I’ll feature it in my gallery.

Can I remove link in the footer? If yes, what are the conditions?
Comment by
NSpeaks — 20/04/08 @ 1:25 pm
Hi Nspeaks, we’d like to keep the link back in tact wherever the theme is used, this way the referrals we get can help towards us developing new free themes.
Without the linkback there is very little benefit to us giving away themes for free and we’d need to spend more time on paid projects to make up for it.
Thanks!

Great theme, but what is not correct that is making the whole header be like 1 line down, so that the graphic with the grass and search this blog is impeding on the lower graphics and is basically too low or too far from the top, so its not in its correct place
thanks
